Software packaging explained
How do you know the format software is in when looking at an item?
Digital downloads will always have 'download version' at the end of their title and live in the Digital Downloads category. Links will be emailed between 24-72 hours depending on the day/time ordered. Those which we host ourselves are faster, those which we have to request from overseas take considerably longer. If you would like to know which a title falls into prior to purchasing, please send us an email through our Contact Us page (link at the bottom of this page).
All other software is available on disc in one of a few different formats:
Cd-rom in paper sleeve:
Cd-rom in graphic sleeve (image printed on coloured cardboard):
Cd-rom in Jewel case (like audio cd):
Soft plastic format (left) or hard plastic more like audio cd cases (right)
Cd-rom in DVD-style case:
Variations include cardboard printed sleeves on the outside of the jewel or DVD cases instead of the inserts just inside the cases as shown above.
Retail boxes include those that are slightly longer than a music cd (jewel case) size, and those we call mini (similar to video cassette size), as seen in the Printmaster Nick Jr image below. The dimensions of the mini retail boxes are approximately 193mm x 134mm x 30mm. The most economical way to ship these, assuming they are not a gift, is to take the disc and any manuals out. Please contact us to order a product this way.

DVD-ROM
Some programs are too large to fit on a cd-rom, but their packaging is normally in either a DVD-style case or mid-sized retail box as shown above.
Older computers with Windows Me, 98, 95 or earlier may not be able to read DVD-ROMs if their cd drives are as old as the PCs themselves.
